Who We Are

The Young Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA International) was established in 1996 as the youth branch of the Atlantic Treaty Association. YATA brings together young professionals, researchers, and university students who are interested in the Transatlantic Alliance and international security policies.

YATA aims to strengthen transatlantic ties and the principles of the North Atlantic Treaty by bringing together the decision-makers of tomorrow. Through the participation of engaged young people, future decision-makers are expected to develop a solid understanding of today's and tomorrow's security challenges.

YATA Turkey works within this framework to cultivate Turkey's future decision-makers, diplomats, and academics with an interest in transatlantic security policy.

YATA Turkey also aims to build lasting connections among future decision-makers by creating a network between those who will assume such roles in Turkey and their counterparts in both NATO member and partner countries.
